Our Story

About the winery

Over 35 years ago my family and I started visiting the Monarch Grove near Grover Beach in San Luis Obispo County. This location, a favorite stop for Monarchs migrating to warmer regions, inspired us to stay as well.  It is truly a hidden gem, just like the great Central Coast fruit we have sourced for our wines. We hope our small lots of high quality, unique wines will give you a good excuse to pause, relax and enjoy.

In September of 2013 we opened our tasting room! The tasting room is located at 180 Highway One, which is in the Amtrak station parking lot. The tasting room hours change seasonally. It is open November-February.  12pm to 5pm Thursday through Monday. March-October 12pm to 6pm Thursday through Monday. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

We enjoy the process of picking, crushing and fermenting our grapes as much as our grandchildren enjoyed eating them whole.  We wouldn’t be doing this if we weren’t filled with joy from the experience.

We Love Our Grapes

We support the local economy by buying local fruit from our neighbors and friends. The fruit is sourced from small farmers and in the past we have hand picked, crushed and fermented multiple varietals. Growing grapes is an art in itself and we want to concentrate on the making of great wine. So hats off to our local farmers. We couldn’t be here with out you.

The fruit we buy comes from the unique climate here on the Central Coast. We can select from dry hot zinfandel to a cool pinot noir. From Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez and Edna Valley to Paso Robles and most recently Arroyo Grande, we have selected a variety of grapes and style the wine to our taste.
